| | | Happy New Year! 2012 has arrived in a flash hasn't it? Been blown in I think judging by the wind speed at the moment. Anyway I hope you all had a good Christmas and Best Wishes for the New Year. Trade at Thorpeness was better than last year mainly helped by the mild weather and lack of snow. I am seriously hoping we don't get any of the white stuff this year as I do not like it much! A couple of dark and dreary months ahead of us and then we can start looking forward to Spring and some warmer weather. If you were lucky enough to have some money for Christmas and want to cheer yourself up with a little something have a look through the Jaipur Jewels catalogue. There are lots of lovely pendants and earrings in silver and semi-precious stones to cheer you up! If you have any questions about anything then please do not hesitate to contact me and remember if you are ever in Suffolk pop into the Emporium at Thorpeness and have a browse around - there are lots of lovely things to tempt you! |
| Introduction to Jaipur Jewels UK Jaipur is one of the most colourful cities in India and is famous for its culture, forts and palaces. Popularly known as the "Pink City" because of the pink-coloured sandstone buildings in the old city - Jaipur is rich in history and culture. The past comes alive in magnificent forts and palaces, blushed pink, where once lived the Maharajas.
Jaipur is the second largest gem and hand-crafted jewellery centre in India and it is estimated that around 280,000 of the population depend on the gem and jewellery industry.
Having been lucky enough to travel extensively throughout Asia and the Orient as a teenager, I have always had a fascination for the rainbow coloured jewels, quality craftsmanship and unique settings of hand-crafted Indian silver jewellery. It is with this interest in mind that I am delighted to be able to import some of this hand-crafted Indian silver and gemstone jewellery for you too, to experience. You too can now enjoy a piece of Indias history by owning precious Indian silver jewellery which has been hand-crafted using centuries old techniques. Choose from a range of classical, contemporary and traditional designs.
There is something for all occasions - everyday wear, an evening out or perhaps a gift for a special occasion.
Enjoy browsing through the Jaipur Jewels UK selection and when you are ready to buy simply click on the "Buy" button to be taken through to the secure Checkout area. Here you can choose to pay using a totally secure on-line payment server or print your order and send a cheque in the post (UK only).

| About Jaipur Jewels UK - Now under the banner of Sandlings Ltd Jaipur Jewels UK has now been established since December 2004 and during that time has undergone a few changes. I started the company off with a view to offering a range of affordable but quality jewellery selling at country fairs, craft sales etc. This worked quite nicely for a couple of years but as you can imagine trying to juggle family life etc and a business is not easy. Most fairs being at the weekend and evenings was a slight problem and the logistics of arranging babysitters, helpers etc was tedious and hard-work. We also got a dog which added to the conundrum. The weather was also a deciding factor, quite often being so unpredictable that it ended up spoiling many events!
At the beginning of 2009 I rented a cabinet at the Emporium in Thorpeness and this has proved to be a great move, later in the year I expanded into two cabinets! Things are now moving on again and from 1st December 2009, Jaipur Jewels ceased to trade as a single company and become part of Sandlings Ltd.
Sandlings Ltd is company that I started and occupies one room upstairs and a space in the main downstairs area at Thorpeness Emporium in Thorpeness. I trade in small items of furniture, rugs, homewares, collectibles and many other things. This is really exciting and so far things are going well and I hope will also prove to be a success. The website continues to run in the same way and you are still able to buy items at the Emporium from Cabinet 2 as usual. I am also managing the other traders at the Emporium and organise rota duties and keep the day to day accounts for the owner who is away in London much of the time.
You can purchase items directly from the Jaipur Jewels UK website through the totally secure payment system, all items listed are in stock (unless marked otherwise) and will be sent to you within a few days. Occasionally an item may be unavailable if it has been sold elsewhere but I endeavour to keep the website up to date!
I hope that you find the Jaipur Jewels UK website interesting and informative - if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. | |
